Getting Started

When setting up my Wix account, it was really easy to create an account and get started. I am not tech savvy, so I was really worried about this. I found picking a temple much easier than I thought. Usually this is one of the hardest parts. Picking “you” and what will represent you. A more challenging aspect was learning how to navigate and edit. I have never built a website so learning what needs to be on it and how best for users to navigate your website was difficult. That on top of learning how to navigate a new website. I figured it out mostly, but I’m sure there is a lot more to learn.
I don’t feel very confident about my online presence. Professionally, I haven’t put much out there for others to see. Personally, I have been very quiet and private. I know that since my divorce I have been very guarded about what I put online and who can see it. It was an abusive situation, and I have not been very public about what happened, and I have been wanting to keep my life very private since. I am excited to learn and do more and I know that will push me out of my comfort zone, but I need that. I know that my resume needs some work. I have had the same job for the past 20+ years, so when it comes to marketing myself there will be a steep learning curve. Since I don’t really use social or professional media, it doesn't reflect who I am or what I have accomplished. The last five years, I have not really been online at all. This is an area I need to work on and improve for future employers.
The biggest question I have about the e-Portfolio is what to add and how to make to flow well. I’m sure I have plenty more to add to what I have created so far, but I’m lost in this area. I know some of what I don’t know, but I’m sure there is a lot I don’t know that I don’t know.
